Los Angeles-based film, TV, and video game composer, Joshua Ginsburg, is known for his modern approach to the classic Hollywood sound, crafting memorable themes, epic action sequences and touching emotional moments. He has scored feature films and TV shows on major networks (Lifetime, GAC) including: My Favorite Christmas Tree, Single and Ready to Jingle, and Ten Truths About Love. He recently scored the high-energy action-adventure feature film Kangaroo Kids, directed by Fairai Richmond of Sunn Stream Productions. Josh’s hybrid orchestral and jazz based score to Fuego was awarded "Best Musical Score" at the San Diego Film Festival, and nominated for “Best Score” at the Micheaux Film Festival. His emotional orchestral score for Backlog was recently nominated for “Best Original Score” at the Indie Short Festival in Los Angeles, and helped elevate the film to acclaim at the Cannes Film Festival in France.
Alongside composer/guitarist Timothy Kobza, Josh co-scored many feature films released by Reel One Entertainment, including May The Best Wedding Win, The Happiness Playbook, A Bet with the Matchmaker, and more. He also worked alongside notable TV composers such as David Benjamin Steinberg (RuPaul's Drag Race), Tony Kanal (Single Drunk Female), and Deron Johnson (QCODE Podcasts).
Born in Las Vegas, NV, Josh began his career as a trumpet player, earning two degrees in jazz studies from the University of Southern California. He later continued on to earn a master’s degree in Screen Scoring from USC. He has released commercial production music with various libraries including Combustible Music, Burnett Music, and Amadea Music Productions, and his music has been been featured on Network TV shows such as Claim To Fame (ABC) and Cesar Millan (National Geographic). His latest album entitled Verge of Destiny, released in August 2023, features epic, action trailer music and is currently available for commercial licensing.
